Having been put into bat Dereham started well, with openers Sam Widdows and Simon Wilby hitting some early boundaries.

Widdows was bowled by a ball which kept low and Wilby and Nic Bliss followed shortly after as Dereham slipped to 51-3. That brought Fletcher and Rob Mabee to the crease and the two compiled an excellent century partnership to put Dereham in charge.

Mabee finally fell for a composed 36, and Fletcher was bowled the very next ball having made an impressive 64.

This sparked a slight collapse as Tom Simpson and George Fuller also fell in successive deliveries and Tom Clarke also fell cheaply.

But Ryan Widdows (25) helped Dereham surpass 200 with some big hitting, ably supported by Tony Carter (16). Dereham were eventually all out for 204.

In reply, Ryan Widdows (3-23) was once again amongst the wickets early on, whilst Liam O'Callaghan also picked up a couple of early victims.

Fletcher then replaced O'Callaghan and produced an outstanding spell of pace bowling to finish with incredible figures of 5-2 from 3.5 overs, which also included a hat-trick to wrap up the Dersingham innings, the visitors bowled out for just 41.

Dereham's Sunday side secured a crucial victory at Thetford to give their promotion hopes a major boost.

Stand-in skipper Duncan Hewitt opted to bowl first and was immediately rewarded when Lee Hoggett picked up a wicket with the first ball of the match.

Jon Crisp also picked up an early wicket before Thetford began to fight back as Dereham produced a sub-par display in the field.

Max Cheetham (1-34) once again produced a solid spell, whilst Hoggett returned to claim two more victims to finish with figures of 3-33 from 10 overs. However, Thetford were still able to set what looked a strong total of 181-5 from their 40 overs.

In reply though, Dereham started well with Hewitt and David Lake in aggressive mood. Lake then fell attempting another big shot, but Crisp joined Hewitt in what ultimately proved to be a match-winning partnership of 99.

Crisp fell for 36, but Hewitt continued his excellent form in Sunday cricket before being run out for a well-crafted 83.

That left Hoggett and Jack Perrin-West to complete the job and secure a relatively comfortable victory by seven wickets.

Dereham's Alliance Division Two side was hammered by 10 wickets by Fakenham.

Dereham were all out for 62 with Matthew Burton claiming four for 27.
