The hockey game against visitors Great Yarmouth was newly-promoted Evergreens first game in the East League so as expected it was a tough match. Evergreens took a little time to settle but built some promising attacks and the defence held strong.

Evergreens took a little time to settle but built some promising attacks and the defence held strong. Sarah Beck had an outstanding game standing in as keeper.
At half-time the score remained 0-0. Yarmouth scored early in the second half and Evergreens kept fighting for the equaliser. After a long break for an injury Yarmouth added another goal.
Evergreens fought hard to the end and with a number of new players in the team see this as a promising start.
