Hindringham made the trip to Loddon in wet and windy conditions, with the pitch difficult to play on, and came away with a pleasing 4-1 win, their first of the season.

The visitors started the Anglian Combination Division One fixture with a real buzz about their play and created several early chances.

The first goal came inside the first 10 minutes when Darren West poked in at the far post. Five minutes later West doubled the lead with a header from 10 yards out.

Hindringham were playing well and continued to press the Loddon goal. With around half an hour on the clock, the visitors were at it again, with a great passage of play resulting in Matthew Hudson not breaking stride to head into the back of the net.

Loddon, a very big and physical side, were using set-pieces to their advantage and just before half-time they finally got their reward when the ball fell in the box for the striker to finish to reduce the arrears before the break.

In the second half the game became a lot scrappier with a few tackles coming in late. Loddon created the best opening of the first 15 minutes when a looping header landed on the roof of the net.

But Hindringham kept their two-goal lead intact and with around 15 minutes to play, Hudson worked hard to win the ball on the edge of Loddon area and slotted home nicely.

Having drawn four of their opening 10 games Hindringham moved up to 13th as a result of their first win, with seven points to their name.

The whole squad played exceptionally well throughout and fully deserved the victory.

Hindringham face Scole at home on Saturday (kick-off 2pm).

Bradenham Wanderers moved up to third in the Premier Division as goals from George Watts-Sturrock and Lee Woodgett gave them a hard-fought 2-1 win at Acle United, whose goal came through Stephen Drake.

Wanderers are at Beccles Town on Saturday.

Norwich CEYMS dropped their first points of the campaign as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Beccles.

CEYMS had won all seven of their league games going into the contest but they had to settle for a point at College Meadow as Jason Clarke's double ensured a share of the spoils for the home side. Daryl Dellany and Lewis Allen were on target for the visitors.
