During half-term Dereham Juniors finished their season in fine style by playing for the Alarming UK Ltd salvers, with excellent scores in both the 18-hole and nine-hole competitions.

During half-term Dereham Juniors finished their season in fine style by playing for the Alarming UK Ltd salvers, with excellent scores in both the 18-hole and nine-hole competitions.

In the 18-hole event, Alex Tang led the field with a net 66 (81-15-66), second was Michael Watters (79-12-67), closely followed by Lewis Bates (81-12-69). The three boys all received vouchers for the pro shop.

The nine-hole competition saw 12 youngsters battling, with the winner Tom Newey, newcomer Benjamin Weiland took second place with Frazer Chettleburgh third on countback. They also received vouchers for the pro shop.

In the mini five-hole competition, the Autumn Cup, Immy Leeder took first prize, closely followed by seven-year-old Harry O'Keefe.

Following this final qualifier, captain Brian Peters made the annual presentation of cups and trophies. A packed clubhouse of dignitaries, parents and grandparents heard a report on the events of the year from secretary Jane Bizley.

It was followed by the announcement that the new junior captain would be Jamie Beeby and his vice-captain Michael Watters.

Junior members now look forward to their Christmas party at Strikes on Saturday, December 12.
