Dereham Golf Club Junior Section saw 43 young golfers play for the Rivett Trophy in the 20th Dereham Junior Open.

With competitors coming from Dorset and Yorkshire as well as many county-wide, the field produced some fantastic scores.

With competitors coming from Dorset and Yorkshire as well as many county-wide, the field produced some fantastic scores.

The Rivett Trophy went to Dereham and County U14s William Tang with a net 58 (77-19-58), the scratch prize to Jamie Smith (Barnham Broom) with 71 (71-4-67).

The day was sponsored by Dereham Round Table, whose vice-chairman Mark Older presented the prizes along side club captain Trevor Bunce.

Other results were: 2 net George Anthony (Barnham Broom) 79-17-62ocb, 3 Alex Tang (Dereham) 89-27-62, 4 Lewis Bates (Dereham) 89-26-63.

Second gross Franklyn Plume (Sprowston Manor) 74, 3 James Lawrence (The Norfolk) 75ocb, 4 Ryan Page (Dereham) 75. Nearest the pin prizes went to William Tang and George Anthony.

Next year's Junior Open will form part of Dereham Golf Club's 75th anniversary week and will take place on Friday, August 7.
