Lady bowlers on county stage

Dereham IBC ladies club winners going through to the county play-offs are: Singles: Bridget Woods; Pairs: Margaret Bartholomew and Yvonne Hunt; Triples: Beryl Kittle, Bridget Woods and Anita Smith; Fours: Beryl Kittle, Iris Bunning, Bridget Woods and Anita Smith.

The ladies completed a fine double at Pinewood IBC, 44-43 shots, 6½-1½ points.

Scores: E Mason, I Bunning, Y Hunt 14-8; M Harlow, B McGoun, M Harmer 10-9; D Tyrrell, M Bartholomew, E Sheldrake 12-12; J Richardson, B Horne, A Smith 8-14.

Their last game is at home to Lakeside Grebes on Saturday, 10.30am start.

The Dereham Men's A team travelled to Norfolk Bowling Club hoping to continue their fine winning run, but a strong Norfolk side won 103-69, 5-2.

Scores: T Hunt, R Pitt, P Hunter, R Rudling 15-30; M Hughes, P Fern, A Mobbs, D Abbs 12-36; J Hunt, G Crane, C Cook, D Norton 22-19; J Lacey, P Chapman, J Cooke, C Taylor 21-18.

On Sunday Afternoon the Pat Deverill Plate was played between Dereham Men and Ladies.

The Men won 85-64, highest winning ladies' rink, B Draper, L Bass, A Gamble, J Richardson and male rink, D Heath, R Johnson, P Henman, J Lacey.

On Saturday (February 27), the Inter-Club Men's A v B starts at 2.30pm at Dereham.
