Five Dereham juniors made the short trip to the UEA sports park in Norwich for the latest round of the Eastern Young Athletes League where they competed as a combined team along with West Norfolk, Ryston and Great Yarmouth.

For the U17 girls, Dereham had Ellie Foster in the 1,500m coming in fourth in a time of 5:22.8 while Abi Foster was second in the 200m in 48.9.

U15 girl Erin McNulty was fifth in her 1,500m race with a season best time of 5:33.9. In the U13 boys, Bradley Sumner was fifth in the shot putt with a distance of 4.71m and ran 16.3 in the 100m. Louis Preston was fourth in the 200m in 33.1 and sixth in the 800m with 3:01.7. In the javelin he recorded a PB of 20.90mm, breaking his club record and earning a UK athletics ranking placing him alongside the likes of Ellie Foster (1), Beth Barrett (1) and Nathan Protheroe (4) with UK rankings this season – and like many Dereham juniors in previous years.
