DEREHAM Town rose to third in the Ridgeons Premier table after Tuesday night's dramatic win at Mildenhall, and fans will expect more points from Saturday's home match with Histon Reserves.

The Magpies have 21 points from 10 games to their mid-table visitors' 12 points from 12 matches.

Mildenhall 2, Dereham 4

Dereham produced a stirring second-half comeback after trailing 2-0 at the interval to two Robbie Harris penalties, writes Rene Kendal.

Craig Terrington began the revival and Ollie Willis equalised before Terrington, direct from a corner, and Adam Smith completed the turnaround.

Two ex-Magpies in the home side were prominent in the opening minutes. Harris headed Rush's cross over the bar in the second minute, then Beaumont nearly foxed Marshall with a precise side-footer but the keeper got down well to save.

Mildenhall's Murkin was booked for a heavy challenge on Furlong. The home side were looking dangerous down the right but Dereham should have scored when Howell played a neat one-two with Beaumont before firing wide from 14 yards.

Both sides started to play some attractive football as they searched for openings. After another good passing move Terrington's struck a right-foot effort wide. In the 20th minute Spriggs used his pace to speed past Furlong but the shot flew across goal and wide.

Mildenhall were then awarded a penalty when Eastoe-Smith appeared to clip Robbie Harris outside the box. The striker beat Higgs with a well-taken spot kick in the 21st minute.

After withstanding a spell of home pressure Dereham won a corner with Marshall making a decisive punch to clear from Howell.

Fine play by the Willis brothers down the right enabled Ollie to deliver a perfect low cross but no one was on hand to finish.

Mildenhall were then gifted another penalty when striker Paynter went down in the box and Robbie Harris netted his second spot kick of the night in the 31st minute.

Dereham responded by winning a free kick just outside the box with Beaumont's effort striking the wall.

As the half ended Mildenhall created two more chances with keeper Higgs making fine saves to deny Harris and then Paynter to set the stage for the Magpies' revival.
