There was another disappointing result for Dereham Town fans on Tuesday night when the Magpies went down 4-2 at home to Wisbech.

Dereham had earned an impressive point at CRC at the weekend but now find themselves seventh bottom of the Ridgeons Premier ahead of Saturday's home match with Mildenhall - who put five past Norwich United midweek - and another clash with unpredictable Wroxham on Tuesday at Trafford Park.

CRC 2, Dereham Town 2

In an excellent match on Saturday, two fine goals earned the Magpies a point.

Dereham trailed after 10 minutes when Jordan Patrick made them pay for losing possession in their own half and being hit on the break.

Just before half-time, Ollie Willis broke forward from his own half and produced a class finish for the equaliser.

Five minutes into the second half Dereham took the lead with a brilliant individual goal from Danny Beaumont, but Patrick headed home for CRC from a corner after 62 minutes.

Ben Dawson made his league debut for the Magpies at full-back and youth player James Hadley, in for the injured Stuart Williams, had a fine game in central defence.

Dereham Town lost last week's home League Cup tie 2-1 to Wroxham after extra time in an all-Premier derby.

Former Dereham player Olly King ended a superb counter-attack to give Wroxham an early lead but Robbie Harris headed the equaliser nine minutes from normal time. The winner was a 25-yard blast by Steve Spriggs.
