Dereham Town manager Matt Henman says Saturday's FA Vase home tie with King's Lynn Town has been in everyone's sights since the pre-season draw.

A big gate is expected at Aldiss Park, the new-look Linnets arriving as leaders of the United Counties League Premier Division and the Magpies among the pace-setters of the Ridgeons League Premier Division.

They moved within a point of leaders CRC with a stunning 4-0 win at Yarmouth on Tuesday night, Danny Beaumont passing his 100th senior goal mark for the Magpies.

Newly-promoted Yarmouth have been the surprise package in the section so far this season. But on 12 minutes defender Jay Eastoe-Smith headed home at the far post from Scott Roberts' corner.

Beaumont converted a penalty and fired home from 30 yards in the 63rd minute, Adam Smith flicking home another Roberts' flag-kick six minutes from time.

Looking to the Vase tie, manager Henman said: 'The game itself should be a great spectacle with both sides set up to play good football.

'The atmosphere will be one to enjoy with King's Lynn sure to bring a good following, and hopefully our own good support swelled by the fact that Norwich have

no game.

'I believe that both sets of managers know each other's teams very well, and so it will come down to who performs best on the day. We all feel extremely confident that we have the players to reduce their threats and cause them plenty of problems going forward.

Henman reported: 'Confidence is high in the squad as we continue to make a good start to the season. The games are coming thick and fast and every member of the squad is playing their part in gaining some good results.'

After the weekend 2-0 win at Woodbridge he commented: 'The Woodbridge pitch has been improved massively, but unfortunately the grass was very long and the game was a little slow as a result.

'In the first half we went too long, the game became a little scrappy and dull and chances were few and far between.

'Marshy (Sean Marshall) made an important save shortly the before the break and enabled us to go in level at half-time and rethink a little. To be fair to the lads, they knew they hadn't played as well as they can or showed the necessary desire and urgency to impose our ability.

'Within 10 minutes of the second half we had scored twice and put the game to bed. Danny (Beaumont) again was on the score sheet, somewhat unusually beating the keeper to a high ball, and Robbo (Scott Roberts) finished a cross from Kenny (Reeves) to get the second.

'We maybe could have made the scoreline more convincing, but we controlled the remainder of the game very well and earned another great away victory,' said the Magpies' boss.

Woodbridge Town 0, Dereham Town 2

Dereham kept up the pressure on CRC at the top of the Ridgeons Premier Division with this Saturday win.

Beaumont continued his fine form by bagging his seventh of the campaign early in the second half when he latched onto Scott Roberts' cross.

Roberts then profited from good work from Kenny Reeves, sliding home to give the Magpies a two-goal advantage.
