After getting back to winning ways midweek in the home derby with Swaffham, Dereham Town travel to Felixstowe & Walton on Saturday and to Walsham-le-Willows on Tuesday.

Dereham Town 3, Swaffham 2

Graham Barrett, from 30 yards, and Sam Willis gave the Magpies a 2-0 advantage before the Pedlars hit back through ex-Magpie Stuart King before the break.

A great strike from Danny Beaumont increased the lead before Kieran Docherty converted a Swaffham penalty after Wilson had been dismissed for dissent.

The Magpies' early lead came after keeper Norris punched Howell's cross from the right away from Beaumont, but was then caught out of position. Barrett expertly planted the ball home from distance over a defender's head, writes Rene Kendal.

Beaumont curled a 22-yarder into Norris's arms as the derby flowed at a lively pace, Norris making a great save to block Beaumont's 18-yard shot in the 22nd minute, following Sam Willis's measured pass. The visiting keeper was called into action again, diving to his right to keep out another fierce Beaumont strike.

The Magpies soon increased their advantage in the 32nd minute. Midfielder Sam Willis made a run into the box, moving smartly between two defenders, before rising to glance home Beaumont's superb cross from the left.

Swaffham won a corner on the right in the 39th minute and keeper Shaun Marshall did well to keep out Julien's far-post header, but King was first to react and netted from close range.

Muddel and Wright came on for the Magpies who increased their lead in the 62nd minute with Beaumont's cracking strike from 18 yards.

Swaffham were immediately awarded a penalty and Dereham were reduced to 10 men when Muddel was penalised for an infringement on Symonds, although the offence appeared to have taken place outside the box. Docherty confidently beat Marshall from the spot after Wilson's dismissal.

The game had developed into a battle with referee Steve Artis busy.

Marshall turned Julien's near-post close range effort for a corner and Sam Willis made a penetrating run into the visitors' box before having a low drive blocked.

In the last 10 minutes Dereham played out time to take the points following a disappointing second half.
