Mattishall Cricket Club have unveiled their new mobile covers, purchased with the assistance of grant aid from the England & Wales Cricket Board (2,250 following a funding recommendation from the Norfolk Cricket Board), Breckland Council (1,400) and Mattishall Parish Council (350).
When representatives from the bodies recently visited Mattishall, chairman Keith Hudson thanked them for their financial assistance and support for the club's aim of providing top class facilities.
He added that the acquisition of the covers should greatly reduce the likelihood of games being called off or having to be rearranged in an already tight playing schedule, an issue which has become even more important with the club now running teams at U11, U13, U15 and U17 levels alongside four adult teams.
Hudson added: 'The covers have already proved invaluable with the recent spell of record-breaking rainfall providing quite a challenge!'
