Mattishall once again travelled to high-flying Harleston Town, this time in the Mummery Cup, and gave a good account of themselves before going down 2-0.

They took the game to their hosts as the match wore on and were in with a chance throughout.

The hosts took the lead in the first half from a direct free-kick and the second goal was scored in the dying minutes of the match by a visiting player scoring in his own net.

Mattishall Reserves entertained Acle Utd Reserves in Division Two and played out a 2-2 draw in a low key match between teams who look as though they will struggle in this division. Mattishall twice went into the lead through Joe Gaston and Joe Giddings but failed to hold on with five minutes remaining.

Mattishall are away on Saturday at Stalham Town (2pm) while the Reserves host Hemsby in the Norfolk Junior Cup (1.30pm).
