Dersingham 1, Mattishall 1
Mattishall gained a well-deserved equaliser when Dersingham player Watson scored a late own goal.
It was a disappointing Anglian Combination Premier Division result for seventh-placed Mattishall, who had much of the play and the better chances against opponents near the foot of the table.
The game started with Mattishall applying pressure. A Taunton effort was well saved by the Dersingham keeper and 30 seconds later the same player was on hand to force the keeper to make another save.
After 15 minutes Dersingham started to get into the game and threaten the Mattishall goal.
A mistake by Mattishall at the back resulted in a fine run and shot by the Dersingham No 7, who hit the bar.
With 35 minutes gone Mattishall continued to do most of the attacking and a corner was headed over the bar by Knights.
The next attack saw a ‘goal’ by Summerfield being disallowed for offside.
A fine ball by Knights on 40 minutes saw Anema miss when clean through on goal, and a cross from Ben Lewis was headed wide by Sommerfield.
The second half started with more pressure from Mattishall, and they had another effort from Perry disallowed, again for offside.
Pledger pulled of a fine save after some poor defensive play after 55 minutes. Dersingham were starting to creep into the game, but another good chance, for Perry, was missed.
A mistake by Lewis resulted in a missed chance for Dersingham, but they took the lead on 85 minutes with a headed goal from Kirby.
Mattishall Reserves came back from two goals down to beat South Walsham 3-2 with strikes from Gary Harbour, Benny McCann and Dale Reynolds.
Mattishall A also won, 2-1 at Beetley, with goals from Mark Armes and Chadd Spurgeon making it an undefeated weekend for the club.
The next match for the first team is on Saturday, at home to Sheringham (kick-off 2.30pm).
The reserves are without a fixture.
