Mattishall travelled to Reepham after a disappointing result at home last week and picked up a well deserved win despite having to play over half the game with only 10 men.

On a perfect surface the visitors kept the ball better than their hosts, playing it from the defensive lines through to the midfield and forwards.

Manager Benny Macann had a variety of players to choose from as a full squad was evident. with good players also on the bench.

Halfway through the first half a quick free-kick was taken on the right flank resulting in a good cross into the box finding Xavier Huckle who obligingly tapped home the opening goal.

Minutes later a poor challenge from Arron Kay on a home defender gave the referee no choice but to show a straight red card.

Mattishall had a large proportion of the match to play with 10 players which they did well up to the break, creating more chances to extend their lead with some very good creative attacking play.

The second have got under way with the visitors now playing some good football, especially down both flanks, with Pascal and Macann having plenty of the ball. However on many occasions Huckle was the only player up front to try and hold up the ball and had to play a waiting game for his team mates.

On the hour mark, with Mattishall going forward in numbers, a shot from outside the box from Jackson Ramm found the keeper's left hand post and went in to double the visitors' lead, much to the delight of the supporters who had made the short trip to gee up the team.

For the remainder of the game the visitors gave little away in defence, allowing a few long range efforts from the hosts which the keeper was able to collect safely.

Mattishall comfortably saw the match out to take a well deserved three points.

Mattishall Reserves narrowly lost their home match to Martham by the odd goal of seven. This was a much better performance from last weekend but the team still need to get their mindset right to start producing much needed points in this tough league. Their goals were scored by Alex Curran, Joe Gaston and Lewis Hart.

Mattishall are away to Harleston Town in the Mummery Cup on Saturday (1.30pm) while the Reserves are at home to Acle Reserves (2pm).
