Swanton Morley Bowls Club, founded in 1959, is an independent village facility, built and maintained by its members for its members.
Situated alongside All Saints Church, the club overlooks the Wensum Valley with one of the most attractive views from a bowling green in Norfolk and to further its ambitions is always looking for new members, with or without experience.
The club membership stands in excess of 30. This means the club enters teams in five local leagues.
In 2008, it won two of those leagues, as well as a local cup competition and, more recently, an indoor league at the first attempt.
On June 7 the club will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with an open pairs competition. It all gets under way at 3pm and is preceded by a peel being rung by the bellringers at All Saints Church.
If anyone is interested in joining the club, contact Julian Cook on 01362 638236.
