Five Dereham Runners took part in the annual Trowse 10k on Easter Sunday, with the race seeing a record number of 442 finishes.

In perfect cool running conditions the Dereham contingent battled amongst themselves, with Keith Moore first home for the club in 46:38 and 140th position, followed by Andy Norton (47:51, 163rd). Michael Jewiss continued his good form this year being the highest age category runner, placed fifth in class (48:48, 187th). Brian Titchiner, starting at the back of the field, worked his way well through to 208th place in 49:49 and recorded a PB. New boy Aaron Jackson completed his first event (230th, 51:04). With only two months of training he will be one to keep an eye on in the future.

Anybody who would like to join Dereham Runners should contact Todd.lake@btopenworld.com or visit the club's website www.Derehamrunners.co.uk.

The 10-mile event being held on May 13 and the town centre 5k scheduled for July 22 are starting to fill up, and those interested in taking part are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
