Nic Cains takes top spot in Dereham Golf Club junior event

Dereham Golf Club's junior members started the 2012 season by playing for the Valentine Trophies.

The 18-hole competition saw some excellent scores with Nic Cains taking the top prize with 41 points, followed by Sian Fenn-Green and Alisha Margerum on 38 points. All three received vouchers for the pro shop which were presented by president Dudley Mayers.

In the nine-hole competition Liam Kevern pipped Immy Leeder to take first place. Captain John Chaney presented Immy with a voucher and Liam with a shoe bag and salver. There was also a five-hole competition in which new junior member Freya Biles shared first place with Charlotte Chisholm. Matthew Goodman was close behind for second. The captain also presented their prizes which he had kindly donated.

The junior season continues with the Scratch Cup and Wiseman Trophy on Sunday, March 25 at 1pm.
