Diss U13s finished their five-a-side summer tour with a trip to Gorleston Rangers' tournament on Sunday.

As in recent weeks the squad entered two teams and for the third competition running both teams qualified from the group stages.

Unfortunately the boys were drawn to play each other in the quarter-finals and after a cracking game the winners went on to face the hosts Gorleston in the semi-final.

Played in a torrential downpour the home team took an early lead, but Diss battled back to go ahead 2-1. However Gorleston equalised to take the match to extra-time and with no goals scored in the extra six minutes penalties beckoned. With two spot-kicks dragged wide Diss knew their fate as soon as the fourth Gorleston penalty hit the net.

All the boys can be proud of their achievements in recent weeks, with two trophies going back to Diss, from the CSF Summer Cup and the Norfolk FA Summer Youth Cup.
