Personal bests galore as young Dereham athletes shine in the sun

Last Sunday saw 11 Dereham Junior Runners travel to the coast to compete in the East Anglian League at the Great Yarmouth athletics track along with team mates from Thetford AC.
Not only did they have some fun in the sun but also put in some great performances on the day, with many personal bests being recorded along with a few club records set, many of these by the Under-11 age group.
In the Under-11 Boys Kai Wiseman equalled a personal best with 12.2 in the 80m while in the 600m he ran 2.02.1 and in the shot putt he recorded a personal best of 5.82m which was a club record. Tobias Cheesbrough got a personal in the 80m with 13.1 and he followed suit in the 600m another with a time of 1.58.1.
Ethan Barrett also recorded a personal best in the 80m with a time of 13.3 while in the 600m he got 2.25.0 and in the long jump 2.93m.
Noah Hensby got two personal bests, the first in the 80m with a time 14.6 and the other in the 600m with 2.27.3. He also jumped 2.63m in the long jump.
In the U-11 Girls Aisha Elouassi ran 13.3 in the 80m while in the 600m she ran 2.14.2 which was a personal best. She achieved another personal best in the shot putt where she recorded a distance of 4.51m which saw her break her own club record. Imogen Davey got a personal best in the 80m with 14.1, in the 600m she ran 2.12.6 and in the long jump she jumped 3.08m which was a personal best and also a club record.
In the Under-13 Boys Ali Elouassi in the 100m came fifth (A) with 14.9 and in the 200m he came sixth with a time of 31.8 while in the shot putt he got a personal best, finishing third (B) with a distance of 4.96m. Bradley Sumner also recorded a personal best in the xhot putt with 5.03m.
Louis Preston in the 200m came fifth (B) with 32.4 personal best and in the 800m he came third with 2.53.3 and in the javelin he came fifth with a distance of 16.20m.
In the Under-15 Girls Erin McNulty came third in the 800m with a time of 2.43.7 and in the long jump she was second with a jump of 3.75m. Beth Barrett in the 100m came fifth, equalling her personal best of 14.5. In the 200m she came fifth with a time of 30.0 and she had a great run in the 75m hurdles which saw her finish in second place with a personal best time of 12.9.
