THE Bulldogs needed to win this game to confirm their promotion to Division Five of the Anglian Combination, and they did so in emphatic style.
The game started in lively end-to-end fashion with Spalding making an easy save from a Horsford free-kick and Ashby hitting a tremendous shot which just cleared the Horsford bar.
On 18 minutes Rowley put the home side ahead with an easy header after the visitors’ keeper got into a tangle with one of his own defenders.
Horsford responded well with a shot from the edge of the box which just cleared the Bradenham bar.
On 23 minutes Arnold increased the hosts’ lead with a long-range volley which dipped over the keeper and into the net.
Foster was instrumental in setting up Arnold, who shot just wide, and a minute later Ashby shot over when well placed. On 43 minutes Arnold set up Rowley who coolly slotted home to give Bradenham a comfortable 3-0 half-time lead.
Bradenham continued to create chances at the start of the second half, and Hobbs put them 4-0 ahead when he neatly headed home an excellent Seabright cross.
On 83 minutes sub Vanno volleyed home to finish a good Bradenham move, and immediately after Gamble was unlucky when he struck a post.
On 85 minutes Vanno scored his second and his team’s sixth, and just two minutes later Hobbs headed home from a left wing cross to complete the scoring.
Bradenham still have a bit to do to if they are to end up as Division Six champions, but this comprehensive win will surely give them the required confidence to complete their ultimate ambition.
