With the athletics season drawing to a close U20 Dereham Runner Nathan Protheroe represented his first claim club West Norfolk in the East Anglian League finals at Bury St Edmunds.

Competition was strong with teams from Norwich, Braintree, Cambridge, Nene Valley, Luton, West Suffolk and Ipswich taking part.

Nathan's first event was the 100m sprint where he finished fifth in the B race in 12.1 seconds, equalling his personal best.

A day which stated fine then took a turn for the worst with thunder and torrential rain which flooded both the track and field. Nathan competed through the storm filling in for a team member in the high jump and jumped 1.60m to finish in third.

Not long after he was back on the track racing in the 200m (B race), crossing the line in second place in 24.5. Straight after was the 4x100m relay where the tired team finished with a great effort in sixth place in 48.1. Overall West Norfolk finished sixth.
