Swanton Morley A, second in West Norfolk League Division Five, ended top of the table Necton's unbeaten record.

Necton invited Swanton Morley to bat and soon reduced them to 20-22 with openers Peter Ellis and Arthur Lake back in the pavilion. However a steady 50 partnership between Gary Whiteside and Barry Green took Swanton Morley to 70 before Whiteside was out for 19 in the 25th over. Tight Necton bowling prevented Swanton Morley from accelerating the scoring, and when Barry Green was out for 34 it was left to David Powell (25 not out) to accumulate as many runs as possible. Swanton Morley's innings ended on 131-7.

Swanton Morley captured an early wicket as the Necton opener Scholey was out hit wicket attempting a hook shot against Ryan Hixson. Scott Evans also collected two early wickets to leave Necton 24-3.

Change bowlers Olly Hood and Mark Fuller, with the aid of an excellent catch by Jake Bartholomew, also got a wicket each. This left Necton at 50-5 after 16 overs.

Beaumont swiftly moved the score to 67 before the returning Ryan Hixson had him caught by Dave Powell. Hixson and Gary Whiteside then took four wickets in four overs as Necton were all out for 75.

An excellent effort in the field by Swanton Morley as the four teenage bowlers were well supported by the fielders, the pick of whom was Aaron Clifton.
