BRADENHAM A took the maximum 26 points from Rackheath in Norfolk League Division Four.

Bradenham decided to bat on a belter of a pitch but they lurched from one mini-crisis to another as Denmark and Goodge were both bowled, skipper Ian Moody adjudged lbw and Joyner ran himself out for nought.

Mark Hunter (25) and young Marcus Evans steadied the ship. Evans played quite brilliantly and made the most of the one chance he gave as he continued to play forceful shots all around the ground. After Hunter departed, Gibb came and went to bring in another product of the Bradenham Academy, Al Bates. He produced his highest league score of 26 not out and Evans went on to a fine 76 not out, putting on an unbeaten 77 for the seventh wicket, which is a club A team record.

The Rackheath reply started stylishly, with D Rymarz scoring freely all around the ground. But wickets tumbled at the other end as Rymarz went past 50 with the team score on 65, 100 with the score on 130. But was rapidly running out of partners as Bradenham lined the boundary to give him only singles.

Iain Brown took 4-52, supported by an excellent spell of quick bowling from Greg Caffyn, with Moody, Martin Fox and Al Bates all contributing with wickets. Rymarz was last man out caught on the boundary by Caffyn off Brown for a superb and chanceless innings of 121.

Rackheath were bowled out for 166, with only Rymarz making double figures.
