Runner takes the high road

DEREHAM Runner John Richardson made the long 12-hour journey to the Highlands of Scotland to compete in the Loch Ness Marathon.

All runners were bussed to the start which was at the remote southern end of the Loch.

All runners were bussed to the start which was at the remote southern end of the Loch. The 26.2 mile route afforded the runners with spectacular views along the whole length of Loch Ness before a very long climb at the 17-mile point over high ground and then a descent to the city of Inverness where the race finished at the Queen's Park Athletic stadium.

Richardson run a disciplined race keeping to constant pace and was pleased to finish in a time of 4hr 18min 58sec.
