Swanton Morley Cricket Club's pre-season meeting will be held in the Angel Inn, Greengate, at 8pm on Thursday, March 22.
All members, prospective players and everyone interested in promoting village cricket are warmly invited to attend. Any offers to score or umpire would be very much appreciated.
The club puts out two sides on Saturdays in the Norfolk League and also plays on Sundays in the MNSCL. There is a strong youth element, with special outdoor coaching sessions provided on Monday evenings throughout the summer. Competitive games are arranged against local sides for the U11s and U13s and the club are actively trying to promote cricket for girls and women. The club also have a new pavilion.
The club are running coaching sessions for girls and boys aged 8-13 at the Neatherd High School Sports Hall, Dereham. Four sessions have been arranged on Saturday mornings, 10am to noon, on March 17, 24 and 31, with a break for Easter, and finishing on Saturday, April 14. There is a nominal charge of �2 per child, per session.
