Swimmer Keenan Stokes has completed an outstanding year. The former Dereham Otter now swims for UEA City of Norwich Swimming Club.

Back in March, Keenan started the season by winning gold medals in the 50m and 200m breaststroke in the Norfolk County Championships, together with three silver and two bronze medals in other strokes.

He also achieved all the qualifying times for all strokes at the east region championships in June, achieving gold medals in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, silver in the 200m fly and 200m individual medley, reaching the final of each event in his age group.

Last weekend Keenan travelled to Leicester in the final competition gala of the year. This provided the opportunity to achieve early qualifying times for next season's main competitions. He completed an excellent weekend, achieving all the qualifying times for the Norfolk County and East Region Championships for all strokes, together with national qualifying times in the 400m individual medley, the 200m and 100m breaststroke. Keenan (pictured) will be training over the Christmas period preparing for his next gala at the national pool in Sheffield on January 9 and 10.
