Wells Town's 14-match unbeaten league run came to an abrupt end on Saturday when they lost 2-0 to visitors Martham at Beach Road. It was a chance to go second in the league, however, the team must pick itself up to move on to the next match.

Several first half chances went begging as the hosts looked to be on top. The visitors' upright prevented three goals along with a ball that flicked over the bar. With only a minute of the half remaining a disputed penalty was awarded to the visitors to go in front.

Wells pushed everyone forward in search of the equaliser but strong defence and good goalkeeping kept them at bay. With Wells pushing forward the danger was from a break and with only minutes remaining Martham attacked, leaving a simple tap-in for 0-2.

Wells have back-to-back matches with UEA to try to keep in the promotion hunt starting at 2.30pm on Saturday with the return at 7.30pm at Wells on Tuesday.
