WHINBURGH Bowls Club are holding their pre–season roll-up on Sunday, April 22 at 2pm at the bowls green on Shop Street in Whinburgh.

A club spokesman said: 'Bowls is a sport suited to all ages and perhaps you are a lapsed player wishing to start again, or an experienced player who wishes to change clubs, or you have never played before but have watched others and thought you would like to have a go – come along and join us on that afternoon.'

Equipment will be provided and club members will be on hand to offer advice and tuition. Anyone attending is asked to wear flat bottomed shoes.

The club had a very successful 2011 season, winning the First Division Cup of the Elmham League, finishing second in the Dereham League First Division by only one shot, and third in the Attleborough League.

In the Age Concern League they won the Mrs Clifford King Cup and came second in the John Cowell Cup, and at Hunstanton their blocks came second, fourth and joint fifth.

The 2012 season starts at the beginning of May.
