Witchingham cruise to victory

Great Witchingham piled on the misery for hapless Halstead as they beat the EAPL bottom club by 183 runs.

Skipper James Spelman (79) provided the backbone of the Witchingham score of 292 for four, while Carl Rogers fired an unbeaten 85 and Simon Chipperfield blasted 49 from just 21 balls, including four sixes.

Sri Lankan debutant Dharshana Gamage made an immediate impression, taking three quick wickets as Halstead lurched to 22 for four. Sam Arthurton (two for 29) and Spelman (three for 16) ensured there was no way back for Halstead as they were bowled out for 109.
