THE SOUND OF AFRICA: Go along and bang the drum at Whissonsett with one of mid-Norfolk's most accomplished livewire performers this month. Anna Mudeka is visiting the village hall on Saturday, March 21 to conduct a family drumming workshop as part of her 2009 Beyondcultures Tour.

And from 10am to noon the Zimbabwean singer-songwriter and musician, who is now based at Southburgh, will give up to 30 children and grown-ups the chance to try their hand at beating out the infectious rhythms that have won her brand of Afro-fusion music a wide following.
Advance booking is essential by calling Lesley Pegg on 01328 700010. Entry is �5 for adults and �3 for children aged between five and 16. The event has been organised in association with Whissonsett Arts.
Later the same day, Anna will be playing a 7.30pm band gig at the village hall. Tickets are �7.50, or �6.50 for children.
