HOW does your garden grow? If you live in Mattishall and are proud of your green-fingered efforts, why not share them with others?

That was the message this week from villager Duane Frewer, who is organising another open gardens weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28.

Duane hopes to have about 15 gardens of all shapes and sizes open this time around to raise funds for East Anglia's Children's Hospices.

The last event, held two years ago, took place on one of the most dismal summer weekends in living memory and still raised more than 1,200, so this time she is hoping for brighter weather and an even better sum.

Some of those who opened their gardens last time are unable to do so this year, but she has had two or three new ones volunteered and would like a few more.

'It doesn't have to be a big garden. The whole point is that we like plenty of variety,' she said.

Call Duane on 01362 850694 if you are interested in taking part.
