You remember the movie and the television show - now enjoy the musical. Fakenham And District Light Operatic Society (Fadlos) is well into rehearsals for Fame - The Musical, which it will be performing in the spring.

The energetic, colourful and hugely popular show will be performed at the town Community Centre from May

13-17.

If you recall the 1970's TV series or Alan Parker's hit movie you will know what to look forward to. So, girls, dig out those leg-warmers!

The stage show picks up where the others left off at the New York High School of Performing Arts.

There are new pupils, new teachers and some magical new song and dance numbers mixed in with the old favourites.

Most roles have been cast, but Fadlos still needs a “cool dude” who can sing and dance for the part of the - ideally black - pupil called Tyrone.

So if you or someone you know can fit the bill, contact Fadlos on 01485 528000 or 07931 262147.

The show's box office will again return to the gift shop, Evolve, in Norwich Street, Fakenham.

Junior group Fadlos Kidz will not be presenting a show in June this year - instead they will be taking over the traditional Fadlos panto slot in early December for what promises to be a moving and evocative production of A Christmas Carol

Producer and chairman Ben Francis said: “After the huge sellout of We Will Rock You I wanted the fifth Kidz show to be something really special and even better.

“I believe we will pull it off with this magical seasonal show.”

The auditions will be held on Sunday, June 29.
