They may only have an average age of 15, but Dereham band The Union Jacks are starting to make a very big impression on the local music scene. In the past month the band has recorded at Leeders Farm Studios near Wymondham, owned by ex-Darkness guitarist Dan Hawkins, who is producing three tracks for the band.

Last week they performed live at the Waterfront in Norwich as support to EDP Next Big thing finalist Fortune Rookie.
“The Union Jacks first came together in the summer of 2006,” said band lead guitarist George Perks.
“We are four friends who are determined to make it in the music world and we believe we have the charisma, talent and professionalism of musicians twice our age!”
At the Norwich gig the band took to the stage amidst rapturous applause from friends, family and even some of their teachers from Neatherd High School to
give a high octane performance.
The Union Jacks will be playing at Gig Undercover at Northgate High School on May 17.
