Comedy, songs and colourful characters are all part of an upcoming Christmas production, billed as 'not another panto, and more than just a musical'.

Twas the Night Before Christmas is a fEAST Theatre production to run at the Wells Maltings from December 5-28.

Artistic director Dawn Finnerty said the musical was suited for children as well as adults. She said: "We promise it will be a Christmas show with a difference - short, punchy and peppered with humour for all ages. We very much hope that regulars and newcomers to fEAST shows will come along and bring their children or grandchildren with them."

The play stars Amy Lunn and Marcus Churchill, and follows the story of the 'baddie' Elderberry Yacht who once 'stole Christmas' and whether he should be released from a story-book prison.

There will be both matinee and evening performances. For tickets or more information call 01328 710885 or visit www.wellsmaltings.org.uk.
