Musician Seikou Susso, who was born in the Gambia, will be visiting the library as part of Black History Month.

Mr Susso is from a family of griots, western African singer-storytellers who recite oral history.

Known as Jalibas, they tell the history of the Mandingo ancestry using poetry and an instrument called the kora, which is also known as the African harp.

Mr Susso began playing the kora when he was six. In 1991 he came to England and since then has performed all over the UK including Glastonbury and the V festival.

He will be at Dereham Library from 2pm to 3.30pm on Saturday, October 18. Entry is free.
