Plans have been approved which will see a town’s Costa move onto the high street - and could see four coffee shops lined up next to one another.
Breckland Council have approved Scoffs Group’s plans to open a new branch of Costa Coffee in the former Prezzo building at 41 Market Place, in Dereham.
A Costa spokesperson said: “We will be closing the Costa Coffee store on 8 Nelson Place, Dereham, which is owned and operated by one of our franchise partners.
“The franchise has confirmed that all team members have been offered positions at the new location.”
But the future of the Nelson Place unit remains unknown.
The high street unit has been empty since the Italian restaurant closed in February 2021, after the business went into administration.
Costa will be located between a Starbucks and a Greggs. Plans were approved earlier this year to change the former Yours Clothing store - next to Greggs - into a new restaurant or coffee shop, meaning Dereham cold have four in a row.
