Barratt and David Wilson Homes upgrade Autism Anglia Centre

Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia employees joined forces with Autism Anglia, Dereham, redecorating the music room at the charity's Dereham centre.

Joe Rolph, Ashley Telfer, Maria Ghigi, Louise Willis, Mick Coombs, and Andrea Taylor were among the team members who transformed the room.

The volunteering initiative followed Autism Anglia's receipt of a £1,500 donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia’s Community Fund.

This contact led to a joint effort to improve the Autism Centre's facilities.

Ashley Telfer, a part of the volunteer crew, said: “Volunteering not only helps local charities which provide vital support to communities and nature, but also offers employees an opportunity to have a break from their everyday work to do something different.

“I think it’s great that each employee at Barratt and David Wilson Homes is allocated two volunteer days.”

Anna Rogers, fundraising and community engagement manager at Autism Anglia, said: “It was lovely to welcome members of staff from Barratt and David Wilson Homes along to Autism Anglia’s Adult Opportunity Centre in Dereham as part of their Volunteering Day.

“Our relaxation room received a fresh coat of paint and is now ready for music and sensory equipment to be moved back in."
