It is the season of goodwill - and one Norfolk chippy is offering free food for all children, with no catch.
The Railway Tavern in Dereham has announced it will give every child under 13, joined by an adult, who enters the shop a free sausage and chips meal every day from December 9 until December 22.
The offering is limited to one portion per child, but no purchase is required to obtain the free food.
Paul Sandford, landlord at the pub which runs the fish and chip shop, said: “We are reminded daily of the cost of living crisis we are currently going through and after talking to our potato suppliers, Lamberts of Fakenham, we decided to try and help a little.
“It’s been a tough year for everyone and if we can bring a smile to a family’s face, that’s good enough for us.
“We are not here to judge people, there is no catch, just free food.”
There is also no limit to the times you can take up the offer throughout its duration.
