It was defeat for Bradenham Cricket Club, as they lost to Sheringham on The Green on May 20 in Division One of the Norfolk Alliance.
Batting first, Sheringham lost both openers early – both LBW to Will Dewing with only 20 runs on the board. King joined Yarham at the wicket and both played steadily to move the score to 143 before the latter was caught by Al Bates off Liam Kevern’s bowling for a well-made 63.
King was eventually bowled by Dewing for an excellent 84. The remaining batsmen offered little and the visitors' innings closed on 186 for 8.
The Bears’ response started poorly with the in-form Dewing caught for 0 chasing a wide delivery.
Al Bates made a quickfire 28 but was caught going for another big shot when a more careful measured approach was called for.
The Bears' middle order promptly collapsed with Watts, Hoare, Ellis, Evans and Braybrooke adding only 18 between them. It was left to Kevern (23), Sol Poole (15) and Greg Caffyn (35) - making a welcome return to the team after a long absence - to add an air of respectability to proceedings, with the team all out for 143 in the 46th over.

Captain Rob Ellis said: “This was a very disappointing performance – especially coming after a good one last week. The target was getable but we didn’t manage the game well and too many of our batters failed to perform. It’s essential we look at ourselves and make improvements quickly.”
The team is away at Martham next Saturday.
The match was sponsored by Ellis Construction Management Services. Bradenham CC’s main sponsor is W C Littleproud & Son
